This book takes you on a journey through the unknown. As the main character Sam attempts to put his life back together after it has fallen apart, he realizes he may be on an even darker path than he realized. He searches for answers to the unexplainable events he has been experiencing, desperate to confirm or disprove something that has been nagging thought at him throughout all of the exacerbating chaos: Something, or someone, might be after his very soul.

Even when describing one of the most gruesome scenes I have ever read, Frank Say is able to do it with such beautiful macabre grace. A pleasure to read from start to finish, this book was entertaining and draws you in with the strange characters Sam meets along his journey to find answers about himself and what has been tormenting him.  From the thrummig energy of the streets in New Orlean’s french quarter–the the realm of the spirits, this unique story will introduce you to some very unique and alluring characters along the way.

Admittedly, I normally don’t tend to like paranormal/horror fiction, but I have to say that this had me hooked throughout. Definitely worth checking it out–I flew through it.
