Suicide prevention is a major concern for me, as three students have completed suicide at the university where I teach in just this year alone. If you yourself have struggled or have watched someone struggle with mental illness, you know how very real the danger can become. If you’ve lost someone to suicide, there are no words to adequately convey that pain.
This weekend I am participating in an Out of the Darkness Walk to raise awareness and funds for suicide prevention.
Please consider making a donation to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention— any amount is appreciated. Over 80% of funding goes toward programs and services (not administrative costs). You can also help me to reach my goal of $300.00.
