Let the break begin! Sort of

I still have grading to do, but I made it through the semester ! I’ve been listening to third eye blind on repeat. Lol.

I’m pretty proud of my most recent blog about the benefits of dance. Click here to check it out.

My own dance journey has been disjointed. I allowed myself to be shamed out of dance at a young age for a while because I’m not skinny and don’t have a typical ballet body. But I got back into it and was actually in a modern dance company for a time. It was amazing.

Belly dance was also transformative, paying so much attention to movement and control. It’s so sensual and self expressive. You can really find out what your body can do and be aware of your core muscles. I found it could ground me and bring me back from dissociation. I would love to get back into it.

I’ve also made a commitment to myself to go out ballroom dancing again hopefully at least once a month. I love that too. It forces you to be present and in the moment because you need to be aware of your partner. It can be a great way to connect, to be receptive to another persons lead. A slight pressure on the hand or pull of the waist.

I could go on forever. Looking forward to blogging every last day of this decade. Wow. 2019 was crazy for me. I’ll have to do more reflection as 2020 draws nearer.
